In an article published by yen.com.gh titled: From an Average Student to Professor: The Exceptional Story of Prof Robert Ebo Hinson, the outlet captures the struggles and the success story of this great academic personality. Excepts of the article are as follows;
From a very humble beginning and a rather challenging break into the world of education, Robert Ebo Hinson would rise through the ranks to become a well-established professor.
In a recent capture of his struggles through life as a young chap, Professor Robert Ebo Hinson narrated what seemed like a story that was going to end in failure turning into a beautiful tale. According to him, he was rather an average student while growing up and just like his own academic strengths then, managed to score average marks during his O-Levels.
As if everything was going to be okay with time, Professor Robert Hinson was then hit with a tragedy – the death of his dad. The passing of his dad happened at a very crucial time in the life of the then young Professor Robert Hinson who was just days away from sitting for his A-Levels. He went on to recount that he managed to come out with flying colours then by scoring 9As & B+.
Following that exceptional performance, he went on to attend the Univerity of Ghana at the age of 29. Ten years after this, Professor Robert Ebo Hinson now boasts of two doctorate degrees and a full professorship. He was highlighting his struggles through life and his beautiful ending now to motivate all those who had hit a snag and wanted to give up on life. He went on to indicate that life had not been all rosy and that his own setbacks taught him great lessons that have propelled him to do exploits.
After posting a nice photo of himself to go with his story, Professor Robert Ebo Hinson captioned it: “O-Levels average. Lost Dad a few days before A-Levels. 2nd Class Lower, but 9As & B+, 1st Year MBA. Joined UG at 29 without Ph.D., at 39, 2 doctorates + Full Prof. Though thy beginning is small, thy latter end shall greatly increase. I’ve been blessed with 2nd chances. U will 2!!”
He went on to add that: “1 thing I have learned – Setbacks matter little if you have a God to lean on & you learn from your mistakes. Our confession is single – Even though our beginnings may be small, our end will be great, never mind what people think! Stay with the promises in God’s word! Learn, move on!”
