The Niger international announced on November 4 on her social networks that she has taken up her post as Director for Africa of Oxfam International, a global movement of people who fight against inequalities for end poverty and injustice.

“I’ve joined Oxfam International as Africa Director earlier this week.

I’m looking forward to contributing to Oxfam’s feminist and decolonial agenda and to continuing fighting against inequalities.

One of my priorities will be to ensure Africa’s voice is heard within the Oxfam Confederation and beyond.” She posted.

She is an education activist with interest in technical and vocational skills education.

Fati graduated from the Ecole Nationale de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquée d’Abidjan (ENSEA) with a degree in engineering. She also holds an MBA from ESSEC Business School.

Previously serving in Midrand, South Africa at the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency as the head of the Human Capital Development Programme. She was responsible for the translation of continental strategies related to human capital, into programmes implemented at national level. Her areas of focus included; skills development (with a special focus on technical and vocational training), issues of employment and the component of gender. In addition to these responsibilities, she also coordinated the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ibrahim Mayaki. Prior to joining NEPAD in 2016, Fati had worked in several European countries as a management consultant and a programme manager since 2006. She worked to support and transform both private and public entities in Africa. She also took part in different education and equal opportunity initiatives in several communities in Niger and France since 2007.
